Carry a Bit of Cash for Small Essentials
Florida is largely cashless these days, and you’ll be able to use your card or phone almost everywhere. But keeping a small amount of cash — even just $10–$20 in notes and a handful of coins — can save you from awkward moments.
Older toll booths on certain Florida roads still only accept coins, and not all rental cars come with a toll pass activated. A few dollars in change can get you through without stress. Cash also comes in handy for small tips, parking attendants, boardwalk vendors, or those little family‑run stalls that don’t always take cards.
Think of it as a backup plan: you probably won’t need it often, but when you do, you’ll be glad you have it.
